Lear 45XR, Lear 60XR, Lear 75
The Lear 45XR market remains strong as we head into the second quarter of 2019. The first quarter of 2019 brought six transactions, which is up compared to Q1 2018 where five sales had occurred. There are currently 12 listings, which is the lowest inventory we’ve seen since Q4 of 2017. If we look all the way back to Q1 2017, there were 27 listings. At less than half of the listings compared to two years ago, just 6% of the active fleet is for sale. Pricing remains strong as inventory levels decline and buyers are running out of quality options. With little competition and strong pricing, now would be a great time to sell your Lear 45XR.
Transactions slowed in the first quarter of 2019 and inventory is up for the Lear 60XR market. The first quarter of 2019 produced only one sale, which is the least amount of activity we’ve seen in two years. As we head into the second quarter of 2019, there are 14 Lear 60XR’s for sale. Inventory levels are up compared to the middle of 2018, but less than a year ago when levels spiked to 16 listings during Q1 2018. Currently, 13% of the active fleet is for sale. Early 60XR’s are approaching their 12-year airframe inspection, which could be having an impact on inventory levels and activity. Strong pricing and increased activity have been observed in the Lear 60SE market where the 12-year inspection has already been completed. With more options to choose from and transactions slowing, this may be a good time to buy a Lear 60XR.
After pricing took a big hit a year ago, Lear 75 pricing has stabilized for three consecutive quarters. Inventory levels in the Lear 75 market have remained consistently low for the past two years. Currently, there are four aircraft for sale, which is up slightly from three listings during Q4 2018. Current inventory levels represent just 3% of the active fleet. As far as activity, the first quarter of 2019 produced one sale, which is identical to the start of 2018. With stable inventory and consistent activity, this market remains balanced for both buyers and sellers.
