The Citation M2 market continues to mature into an active market, as the fleet has reached over 220 units. Q2 averaged 10 units on the market, which is two more than Q2, 2018. There were five sales in Q2, which represents 2.25% of the fleet, and is the same as Q2 2018. After holding steady for four quarters, pricing declined last quarter. This would be a good time to purchase an M2, as there is ample supply with favorable pricing.
The number of Citation CJ2+ available for sale has increased moderately when compared to Q2, 2018. In Q2 there were 17 aircraft available, which was four more than in 2018. There were seven sales in Q2 2019, which represents 3.1% of the fleet. Pricing has remained steady for the past three quarters. This would be a good time to either buy or sell, as there is an ample supply with good movement.
The CJ3 market continues to remain active. There was an average of 35 units available for sale this past quarter, which is the most available since Q2 2016. 12 units traded last quarter, two more than Q2 2018, and represents 2.9% of the fleet. Pricing has remained steady for the past five quarters. This is an excellent time to purchase a CJ3, as the inventory levels are rising and pricing remains stable.
The Citation CJ4 market has shown some significant activity during the past few quarters. The number available has nearly doubled since Q1, but is aligned with the amount in Q4. After the strongest quarterly sales in this aircraft’s history in Q4 with 14 sales, the activity has slowed, with seven sales in Q2. Pricing has held steady for the past five quarters. This would be a good time to purchase a CJ4, as there is a good supply with firmed up pricing.
