Lear 45XR transactions are up when compared to Q2 but off the pace of 2017 looking at total sales YTD. There were four transactions during the third quarter, compared to just two during Q2 2018. However, 26 aircraft had sold by this time last year, compared to just 11 45XR sales YTD 2018. Inventory remains relatively stable. Currently, there are 14 aircraft for sale, which reflects just under 7% of the active fleet. This is up slightly from the 13 that were on the market during the first two quarters of 2018. Looking back a year ago, inventory is down from 17 aircraft for sale during Q3 2017. Pricing has held steady for the second consecutive quarter, after dipping towards the end of 2017. With pricing holding steady for the time being, and transactions bouncing back from a slow Q2, this could be a good time to sell your Lear 45XR.

Lear 60XR Market

The Lear 60XR market had its slowest quarter in two years during the third quarter of 2018. Only two aircraft sold, which is less than half of the average number of transactions over the past eight quarters. There have been just nine sales so far this year, compared to 14 60XR’s sold in 2017 YTD. On a positive note, pricing has remained flat for the seventh consecutive quarter. Inventory is holding steady at 12 aircraft for sale, where it has been for two consecutive quarters. This represents 10.7% of the active fleet. With demand starting to slow for the 60XR, and pricing holding steady, this may be the perfect time to sell your 60XR.

Lear 75 Market

The lack of Lear 75 inventory caused a slow third quarter, producing no sales for the first time since Q3 2017. Even with a slow third quarter, we are still ahead of last years pace of two transactions by this time. There have been four Lear 75 transactions in 2018. Inventory dropped to three aircraft for sale, as prior quarters have held steady at four or five Lear 75’s on the market. There is currently only 2.7% of the active fleet listed for sale. Even with historically low inventory, pricing declined sharply in the third quarter. For sellers, this market provides low competition, but buyers are still able to find a great value.
