Lear 45XR, Lear 60XR, Lear 75
The Lear 45XR market is leading the pack of all Lear models coming into the second quarter of 2018. Lear 45XR transactions are up when compared to Q1 of 2017. This is impressive considering there were over twice as many Lear 45XR’s on the market last year at this time. Five aircraft sold in the first quarter of 2018, compared to three that sold in Q1 2017. There are currently 13 Lear 45XR’s for sale which represents just 6% of the active fleet. The number available for sale has declined significantly over the past year, dropping from 27 in Q1 of 2017. Pricing has stabilized in recent quarters with some model years showing increases in Q1 of 2018. Strong demand and declining inventory show this market is headed in the right direction for an owner considering selling their Lear 45XR.
The Lear 60XR market is looking for transactions to pick up as inventories rise. Lear 60XR transactions are slightly down when compared to Q1 of 2017. Three aircraft sold in the first quarter of 2018, compared to four that sold in Q1 of 2017. There are currently 16 Lear 60XR’s for sale, which represents 15% of the active fleet. The number for sale is up only slightly from Q1 2017 but trending upward from only 11 aircraft for sale in Q4 of 2017. Pricing has stabilized through 2017 and into 2018. This relatively active market could be a good opportunity for sellers, although competition will remain high as more comparable aircraft come to market.
Lear 75 transactions in the first quarter of 2018 have cooled down from the four sales in Q4 2017. There was just one sale in the first quarter of 2018, but this is still an increase from no sales in Q1 2017. There are currently five Lear 75’s on the market compared to four last year at this time. Keep in mind the Lear 75 active fleet has grown by 12 aircraft since Q1 17, so inventories are similar to last year at just 5%. Price is declining but at a slower rate than previous quarters. The Lear 75 market remains steady as inventory remains low compared to the active fleet size.
