Hawker 800XP, Hawker 850XP, Hawker 900XP
The Hawker 800XP market is comparatively up at the end of the third quarter, with sales of 43 aircraft compared to 50 for all of 2016. The average asking price has flattened out at $1,916,804 at the end of the third quarter and $1.950MM at the end of the second quarter of 2017. This also is a decline from last year with values that averaged $2.175MM at the end of the fourth quarter of 2016. There are currently 51 airplanes for sale or approximately 10.8% of the active fleet. This is a slight decline from 55 at the end of the second quarter. We expect to continue to see some stabilization in the market through the end of the year.
The Hawker 850XP market continued to be slow through the forth quarter of 2016 and up through the third quarter of 2017. So far there have been 10 transactions this year, a significant increase over last year. All of 2016 saw only five retail transactions. The average asking price dipped again in the third quarter from $3.87MM at the end of last year to $3.32MM. There are currently 12 aircraft for sale or approximately 12% of the active fleet. We expect the prices to continue to weaken slightly with continued pressure on values as this market.
The Hawker 900XP market is seeing relatively good activity for the first time in a while. At the end of the third quarter 14 aircraft have changed hands, compared to 14 for all of 2016. Pricing has dropped steadily during 2017 with average asking prices falling form $4.72MM in Q4 2016 to $4.19MM at this time. There was also a slow end to retail transactions in the fourth quarter of 2016 with only two transactions. There are currently 19 aircraft for sale, up one from the end of last quarter, or approximately 10.4% of the active fleet. We anticipate some stabilization in the Hawker 900XP market through the end of the year.
