Current State of the Hawker 800XP Market

The Hawker 800XP market is comparatively flat at the end of the second quarter, with sales of 27 aircraft compared to 60 for all of 2016 and 56 retail transactions for 2015. The average asking price has continued to decline from $2.175MM in the fourth quarter of 2016 to $1.950MM at the end of the second quarter of 2017. There are currently 55 airplanes for sale or approximately 12% of the active fleet. We expect to continue to see some stabilization in the market this quarter.

    The Hawker 850XP market continued to be slow through the fourth quarter of 2016 and the first half of 2017. So far there have been three transactions this year. All of 2016 saw only five retail transactions as compared to 18 retail transactions in the prior year. The average asking price dipped again in the first quarter from $3.87MM at the end of last year to $3.470MM. There are currently 12 aircraft for sale or approximately 12% of the active fleet. We expect the prices to continue to weaken with continued pressure on values as this market and similar class of aircraft continue to decline.

    The Hawker 900XP market is seeing very good activity for the first time in a while. First half sales of thirteen aircraft are equal to all of the sales in 2016. Pricing continued to drop in the fourth quarter of 2016 as average asking prices dropped from $4.72MM to an average ask price at the end of the second quarter of $4,297MM. There was also a slow end to retail transactions in the fourth quarter of 2016 with only one transaction. There are currently 18 aircraft for sale, no change from the end of last quarter, or approximately 10% of the active fleet. We anticipate some stabilization in the Hawker 900XP market in 2017, although at slightly lower values.
