Falcon 50EX, Falcon 900EX, Falcon 900EX EASy, Falcon 900LX
Falcon 50EX inventory has been declining steadily over the past year. This has made an impact on transactions, from six sales during Q1 2017, to just two transactions in Q1 2018. There are currently 13 aircraft on the market, compared to 19 in Q2 2017. 13% of the active fleet is for sale. Pricing has remained fairly stable through the latter part of 2017 and continues into the first quarter of 2018. As with many markets in the first quarter of 2018, inventory is shrinking and buyers are looking for more options. This makes for a good environment if someone is considering selling their Falcon 50EX.
Falcon 900EX transactions have slowed in the first quarter of 2018 when compared to the active 4th quarter of 2017, which produced eight transactions. There were three transactions in Q1 of 2018, which is comparably up from the 1 sale in Q1 of 2017. Inventory has remained steady the since the 2nd half of 2017, fluctuating between 10 and 11 aircraft for sale. Currently, 9% of the active fleet is on the market. Pricing took a big hit in Q4 of 2017, but things have stabilized since. The last three quarters of 2017 brought 16 transactions, and if lower prices are causing more buyers to enter this market, we could expect the same or more from 2018.
The Falcon 900EX EASy retail transactions have been slightly down in the first quarter, when compared to Q1 of 2017. No aircraft sold in the first quarter, which are two fewer than a year ago. Q1 averaged ten 900EX EASy aircraft for sale, which represents 8% of the active fleet. The number available for sale has increased slightly for the past three quarters with the addition of four aircraft. Pricing continues to remain stable as it has for two quarters. Because of the slow sales activity and increasing availability, this would be a good time to purchase a 900EX EASy.
The Falcon 900LX retail transactions have been slightly higher in the first quarter, when compared to Q1 of 2017. Two aircraft sold in the first quarter, which is one more than a year ago. Q1 averaged five 900LX aircraft for sale, which represents 7% of the active fleet. The number available for sale has dropped continuously for the past four quarters with five fewer aircraft. Of the available aircraft, 40% sold in the first quarter. Pricing continues to remain steady as it has for the past two quarters. Within this market, there has been no better time to sell in the past four quarters than now.
